Residential Costs Per Square Foot In NC

OK- I know this is probably a VERY tall order, but it never hurts to ask.......

I am interested in contracting for the construction of a 900sq ft cottage on a tract of property I recently inherited in the central piedmont area of NC (I believe the nearest township is Richfield or Gold Hill). Does anyone here know where on the web I can secure a reasonable estimate of the current costs-per-square-foot for new construction in this particular area?

    Hi Callagan,

Square foot price is relative to what ammenities you want in that "cottage." I live in Cabarrus County and familar with building prices in the surrounding counties.

You need to be more detailed about the plans, land, water / sewer system (your probably looking at well and septic) etc........otherwise you will get prices from $75 - $100 plus per square foot.

In the mean time if the property requires well and septic then you need to contact the Zoning / Health Department to see if the property will perk and what type of system they will allow.
