Breaching Of Lease
My fiance and I were looking for a room for rent in Mission Viejo. We responded to an ad and were led to believe that the girl renting the room was a an owner to the property. We signed a six month lease at 500 dollars a month with no security deposit, and proceeded to move in. About two weeks later, her mother came to the house and was shocked to see that the room was rented. She told us that we had to vacate the property and proceeded to call us many insulting names. We consulted attorneys and they questioned our lease. Upon showing them the lease they felt it was legit and now we are trying to come up with a fair figure as to what should be fair compensation. Does anyone know the laws out there for tennant rights and fair compensation?
