Call up many law firms and then meet with several attorneys and interview them. I had to meet with almost 30 attorneys before I found the advisors I want to deal with currently. I have a good corperate lawyer to deal with the business part of things (we are running a business!) and then a real estateattorney to do that side of things. Attorneys should meet with you initially for free. I'd recommend to dress the exact same for each meeting because in my sales experience how you dress affects the atmosphere. There are many books on this subject if you are interested.
You can also read up on the subject. I'd also recomend talking to a good accountant besides the attorney. However, there are do it yourself packets available from office supply stores as well or www.alphapublications.com. This is not something that needs to cost you thousands of dollars to do. If you need to ammend your documents, most states will allow you to do this for a nominal fee.
Good Luck,
Jeff
ALways good to talk to an accountant for the tax beni's
That said anyone can do the LLC thing themselves without an attorney and very cheaply.
I have set of corporations and LLC's for years for myself and friends with no problems.
But why stress yourself, pay a company online to do it for you. The cost varies by state.
Here is one that forms an LLC for you for $79 plus filing fees in your state.
I also consulted with my accountant about forming and LLC or a corp. Since my CPA also is involved in REI, he was extremely helpful and gave me a lot of excellent advice.
And while it's true you can file for it yourself, I recommend meeting with a CPA before so they can help you make the decision that meets your finacial goal.

I think that these days that is what I would do instead of taking my time to do it. I mean, $79? it doesn't take long to spend that much time...

Thank you guys for your responses...You guys are tremendously great!!!
Why pay someone even $79 when it will take you 5 minutes. Go the Georgia state government site:
sos.state.ga.us/corporations/filing_procedures_llc_2001.pdf
$100 with the paperwork and you are done for an LLC. Once you make some money then spend it on a CPA....
Just my 2 cents...
