Found A Seller

found a seller and have run the comps. in the area. From what he says he owes on his house it sounds like a good deal. How do I go about buying the house without a realtor? Do I take his word for what he says he owes on it? Also he says he is not behind on his house payments.

Welcome to this board. Do you plan on purchasing this house conventionally, subject to the existing mortgage, on lease option, or what?

You definatly do not take the seller's word on what he owes. You should obtain written authorization to release information (just some simple thing you can write or type up) and fax that to the bnak. From there request a payoff, reinstatement quote (if applicable), and copy of the origional note.

Tell us what you are trying to do and we can give you a better answer.
