Bankruptcy & Eviction

I have a friend who had a eviction from the court, when the sheriff went to evict the renter she produced bankruptcy papers. The sheriff did not evict....How does the bankruptcy stop the eviction ???

    Boy, this is a puzzler. Did your friend have an attorney help in the eviction? If yes, contact him/her right away and ask what the next steps are.

    I am going to make an assumption. In bankruptcy, typically you do not have to relinquish your home. I am assuming that the bankruptcy protected her from becoming homeless. All other assets are up for grabs but they are allowed to maintain a roof over your head.

    With that said, I would get an eviction attorney involved right away.

    does anyone have hard data on price appreciation/depreciation for timeshares?

    We own a wonderful TS in Massanutten, Va. We went through the sales pitch and found the prices beyond comprehension. Went shopping and found a 4bedroom on www.redweek.com for less than half of what Massanutten was charging.

    My advice is to take some of the "free" trips, find a TS you like & buy on the aftermarket. Make sure you factor in the maintenace cost and frequency of use.

    No idea why the fees are so low. Perhaps a blend of Mexico and the fact it is a new resort. Not sure. I think they are raising the fees to $400 next year.

    I have a time share in Matzatln, Mexico. It was given to me by my Mother and Father in law. I never use it and would like very much to be rid of the responsibilty of it.

    The time share is a 2 bedroom 2 bath unit and is deeded week 47 (thanksgiving). This is considered a red (best) week. There is 11 years left on the deed (including this year). For a price the timeshare can be registered with RCI and traded from week to week.

    The yearly maintence fee is $365. I believe the timeshare was originally purchased for $13,000. All I ask is $1,000. This will cover the $300 transfer fee that will be incurred to change the deed to your name. Please email me at **Please See My Profile** if you have any interest.

    Check out the Aranizers we have in our Products area. We use them each time between re-rents to get rid of the funk odors left behind from some of our tenants.

    Keep in mind when you are getting rid of a pet stain, you really need to solve the issue first (bad carpet, bad padding,etc)
