Bandit Sign Help
These are GREAT questions. I was getting ready to post something asking the same things. In addition to those questions I would like to add:
- Is there any real LEGAL way to post signs that anyone knows of? I personally would like to have them stay up for as long as possible!

I can’t offer much advice, as I don’t use them. But it has to do with local ordinances. And typically, they are not allowed – hence the term BANDIT signs.
Mike I use bandit signs.... there just really large ones...
theyre like 14 feet by 48 feet...
Nice thing about it is that they dont get taken down, well unless I stop paying for them.
And O my God people can actually read them..
And I havent had a city official call me yet...
On a serious note when are we getting together for lunch with Brian?

Thank you Harddtime and everyone else who responded to my bandit sign question. I appreciate all of your help on this.
Use stiffer steel poles and a sledgehammer...
Use telephone poles as your own!!

I like trees with big long nails.
I also like the way those bright yellow signs jump out when there is snow on the ground.
Thanks for the ideas Jimandlacy and DougON - I will check into both!
DougON - Did the people using the drill method ever say anything about watching out for buried power lines, etc? Have you used this method yourself?
Stop wasting your time... pick up the telephone and call NODs FSBO or expireds..
Even mail them something... Maybe even put an ad in the classified section of the newspaper...
And if you really want to get out in the snow go knock doors instead of putting up bandit signs...
But what do I know..
I could go on and on but I wont...

Putting bandit signs in the ground is almost a waste of time whether it be summer or winter, its just too easy for someone to grab them.
In the winter it is not even worth doing, mainly because snow plows just knock them over or they get hit with salt and sand from the plows and are unreadable. I learned my lesson with that along time ago, they only last a week or two at the most. If you are going to be putting up signs you need to nail them up to poles.
