Any TX RE Lawyer Here ?

Hi all, I am hoping that some TX RE lawyer can answer my question: When buying sub-2 and selling on owner finance, what is the best/correct way to do it now that CFD (contract for deed) is not preferred, as I understand? Deed of trust (recorded) ? Wrap ? Please clarify. Thanks, "B".

While I'm sure you think you've asked a simple question, it's not at all simple and might take a college course or two to fully cover.

Suggestion: find your local Travis County/Austin/Capital, etc. REI group and get active there.

They'll have good speakers and discussions and many very experienced members with whom you'll be wanting to develop some business relationships so you can learn more.

I believe there are 3 or 4 such in Austin area, but here's specifics on one:

    Austin Real Estate Investors Club
    Contact: Robert S. Guest
    Telephone: (512) 671-8828
When: First Tuesday of each month, 6:50pm
    Where: OMNI SouthPark Hotel,
    IH35 & Ben White, Austin

One more bit of advice...REI is basically a topic about which none of us know it all, and cotinue to learn as long as we live...so don't despair, but just keep plugging away and you'll learn as you earn.

Just don't think you have to know it all before you begin...or you never will!
