Any Good Direct Mail Software?

Hi,

I plan on direct mailing to absentee owners by sending out multiple letters. Is there a good software out there which will do the mail merge and print out the letters? Since I intend on sending out 3-4 letters, I think it will be helpful to have the software notify when the next batch of letter should be sent out.

Is there a good reference of letters to help increase the response rate?

Thanks,
Worknomore

I just learned how to mail merge on microsoft office 2003. I just have to have an Excel spreadsheet, and can now mail merge into form letters from different lists.

SO the answer is yes theres a good program. I use Excel, and word.

If youre serious about traking and contact management and mail medge than use ACT. It will cost you some money but the info it will give you is worth the investment.

Will ACT allow you to import from an excel spreadsheet or a comma delimited list? Also, will it keep track of you mailings - such as numbe of letters written, and date of next letter?

    Thanks

The best software for a direct mail campaign is Goldmine. It does automated processes where ACT does not.

So, on Monday, it will ask you whether you want to run Auto Process and you say yes. It will then print letters and/or labels for all those that need to be printed that day. So, Jane (a vacant ) is getting her 4th letter and Bob (a preforeclosure) gets his 2nd letter and Mr. Smith (another PF) gets his 3rd postcard, etc.

    Awesome.

When you print one batch of letters, can you at that time say that you want the next mailing for this batch to be 08/20/05?

    Hi JulieAnn,

This software sounds very good. I have a few questions:

    - Based on your usage do you find it easy to learn and apply.
    - Also does the software give you flexibility of formating your letters.
    - After you print the letters, does it also print the address stickers for the letters?
    - Does it allow printing on postcards 4x6 or 6x9?
-Finally, does it allow to import data from .csv or .xls files? I am thinking of mailing absentee owners - so hopefully the database supports 2 addresses per lead.

Thanks Julie, I like you idea of hiring a consultant to fine tune the database to your specific needs. Thats probably the best way to go.

There are also many wonderful mailing houses that can do all of this for you. Some even provide the list to whom you want to mail. Go to Yahoo and run a search on REAL ESTATE DIRECT MAIL

Julieanne, did you get blasted with the flooding and everything. How do you see your whole market changing as a result of Katrina? Or anyone in the affected areas that can answer.

Ioved fortune maker in the past, but I tried to get updates for the county and the customer service has been very slow, almost non existent.
I have been promised an update in 48 hours twice and now that makes the third time (when you can get anyone........)
