How To Find REOs

I have been calling banks around Chicago trying to find information on foreclosed and pre-foreclosed properties. Whenever I get a bank on the phone they never know who handles their real estate so they transfer me to commercial lending. The commercial lenders never know who handles their REO properties either. So my question is what keywords do I need to use when talking to the banks and trying to at least get put on an investor list?

Banks with Lansing properties seem to only deal through a Realtor. Look in the MLS for key words like Corporate owned, Bank owned, REO, etc. A few Realtors will have a ton of these listings. Contact them and tell them what you are looking for- they will be happy to inform you of upcoming properties before they are listed on the MLS since they prefer the full commission.

I often list the properties I purchase in my packages with real estate agent and sell with pretty good success that way.
