After The Sherriff Sale
Hi,
I had posted about my friends who had lost their house at the sherriff sale, the sale was about 5 weeks ago. They were told about the surplus ( turns out it is108,000) that will be going to them after they complete the forms...my question is: they contacted trenton about the forms they need to fill out to claim the surplus..the woman there told them that the balance from the sale has not yet been paid, so of course they can not get the surplus of something that is not there yet....how long does it normally take for the buyer to pay in full after the sale...this is in NJ where the redemption period is only 10 days which is well over...my next question is what happens if the purchaser fails to complete the purchase of the house? thanks!!
