Advise To Proceed Property Purchase.
I may have an opportunity to purchase property for my personal use. However, I 'm unfamiliar with how I should handle the situation.
Vacant lot with a value of 17k (tax rolls)- seens the person owning the property was awarded it in a divorce. Problem - there is a judgement of 27k by a construction company ( was actually file agaist the husband/wife and the company they co-owned). The property is worth 25 - 30k because of its location. I would like to short sale the deal and get the property for the best price I can. I have not spoke the wife yet. I wanted to get my ducks in a roll before hand. Any ideal how I should proceed? Anyone experience this situation before? What documents do I need (getting permission to talk with the party filing the judgement, sales contract, ...etc)? [ Edited by morehouse on Date 08/22/2003 ]
