Advice Needed: Using 9-5 To Help REI Career

Hey, folks!

I recently got a J-O-B as a Quality Assurance Analyst (read: customer service) for a mid-size builder of condominiums, townhouses and sfhs.

Duties include scheduling contractors for jobs during development/construction phase, and taking care of warranty repair items for homeowners after the closing.

Anyone care to share some thoughts/ideas on how to use this position, to help me in my rei endeavors? I have done a few wholesale deals and would like to continue doing this. At some point (higher credit score, more cash reserves, etc.) I'd like to start rehabbing.

So far, I've been thinking that I could start by networking with the contractors, and get more familiar with costs and timeframe to do different things.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Congrats on the job. Hey, we all need to pay our bills til our goals are reached grin

It sounds to me like you can definitely use this position to network, first and foremost. Start there and see where it goes.

Also, if you oversee the warranty repair items, (and I am taking a guess here as to what that entails) maybe you can also get to know the people doing these repairs. Talk to them, ask about the repairs they are doing, how to typically fix what they work on, etc. and you could probably build up a pretty good knowledge base of fix up times, costs, materials, etc. for common jobs.
