Thanks for letting this know as, now I really got updated with manufactured home as I was knowing to some other stuffs also.
Manufactured houses are preferred by many people now-a-days. These houses are very comfortable and have all the facilities. [ Edited by JeanFolly on Date 10/10/2013 ]
They are also built stronger than a stick built house as they have to withstand transportation to the site.
And I think they have additional strength for high wind situations and they are put up much faster than stick built.
A manufactured home is not built to OSHEA as are stick-built homes, rather HUD guidelines and are not as well constructed nor are the building materials used. These homes are not considered similar to stick built. I am assuming the response above is referring to modular homes
Living in Florida, we now have a better MH option that is just hitting the market; steel and concrete, non-wood modular/mobile homes that meet HUD and SSBC standards. They meet 178 MPH wind requirements, and will be starting installation in March 2015. Sizes from 900 to 4800 sq ft as either modular or mobile. When finished, they look like normal homes and can be built to 3 stories as well.
