1 Month Update On Disputes

I know I've referred a few people on here over to creditboards, and a couple of the other hotspots for this kind of info, but I've always said I hadn't gotten many results yet personally.

Well, after just over a month of cleaning up my reports, here's a few shots of encouragement:

One of the bureaus dropped an old cc account that said "closed by grantor."

One of the others dropped that account, an old store account and an old installment account... and jumped over 20 points.

The other dropped the installment account, an old car repo account that read like a red inkstain, another account, and DROPPED THE BK PUBLIC RECORD ITSELF ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT!!!!!!!!!! I don't have the FICO back on this one yet, but I'm sure it's VERY significant! This one also had about 15 late payments drop off of one of the 'verified' accounts.

The CA's are next. I've got all the info I need to get rid of at least one of the two. I've also gotten enough coaching to finally deal with a 5 year old IRS issue (It's funny that if you make a ton of money and lose it all, that they just care that you made it... even if you never got to spend it.)

Anyway, just thought this might be a good shot in the arm for anyone trying to clean their records up. This was my FIRST round of disputes! (not counting a brief encounter with Lex years ago). I fully expect an average of 100 pts jump from my starting point within 6-7 months.

Happy hunting.

Congratulations and way to go. It may be embarassing to call these people, but it sure is worth it isn't it. I had to do this serveral years back and it was a good lesson for me to learn.

    Thanks for sharing your success.
